And I actually received an UPDATE on the FIRE OS today, 10/18/2017, which is now FIRE OS 4.5.5.3 So AMAZON still supports it. AWESOME!! I cant say enough good things about the fire hdx.

I can only rate the fire hdx over all at 4 stars because of amazons support of the hardware, which at this point is none. Sorry amazon. You did it to yourself. Edit. I also have 2 fire tv’s and a fire stick. I can only wonder how long it will be before amazon cancels or downgrades them.

NO GAMES (just to let you know), and this model is BETTER than ANY model available now. WITHOUT QUESTION. If you use this model just for this purpose, just KEEP IT. The newer models are actually WORSE than this one. If you are into games, or want to use the GOOGLE PLAY STORE, get another model (NOT AMAZON).
