Who are splendid productions influenced by?
Splendid’s theatre is structured in a ‘Brechtian’ way. It is strongly influenced by the theatre of Bertolt Brecht, and there is never any attempt to disguise the theatricality and didactic nature of the work.
Why was splendid productions founded?
Kerry set up Splendid Productions in 2003 after attending the ‘Head for Business’ course for creative people, and began leading workshops. Running her own business allowed her to manage her work around being a parent.

Brecht once likened realism to that of a drug where the audience became pacified in a weakened state of awareness. He wanted his epic theatre to awaken the audience, even referring to them as “spectators” – they were to be observers, not participants.
