Unless specified on the events webpage, there are no cut off times. Unfortunately we are under pressure to open roads we have closed, so we do have a race sweep vehicle. This travels at a 17-minute mile pace.

When was the First Great South run in Portsmouth?

I run in the 1990 first Great South in Southampton after which the event came and remained in Portsmouth. Since then I marked notable birthdays e.g. 60th & 65th. The course scenery, location and atmosphere is spectacular. If travelling to the event I would recommend having a long weekend & making the most of the location.

When do the roads reopen for the Great South Run?

Roads are re-opened as soon as possible on a rolling basis but all roads will be re-opened by 14:00. If you arrive late use the city centre car parks and walk to the race start area.
