DuPont™ Tychem® 4000 delivers effective protection against a range of chemical environments. Tychem® 4000, utilizes Saranex™ 23-P film laminated to Tyvek® fabric to provide a rugged and durable fabric that resists abrasion. Tychem® 4000 fabric provides at least 30 minutes of protection against >124 chemical challenges.
What is a tychem suit?
Tychem QC military biohazard suits are made of 1.25 mil polyethylene-coated Tyvek material that provides splash protection against chemicals and viruses. The protective suits are serge seam to add protection from dust, pesticides, and small particles.
What is the difference between Tyvek and tychem?
It is important to know that Tyvek can only handle a light liquid splash, so it is typically used for protecting against dry substances such as dust. If you need protection against hazardous liquids, a DuPont Tychem Suit is an excellent choice. It was designed especially for biological and chemical protection.
What is Tyvek QC?
These coveralls will protect you against light liquid splash, and they’re ideal for the pharmaceutical, chemical processing, food processing, petroleum and paper industries. For optimal visibility, these chemical suits are made with a bright yellow material.
What is a Saranex suit?
A very lightweight spray suit, that will provide the best spray protection of the Tyvek line of disposables. Made of standard Tyvek, laminated with 2 mil Saranex barrier film. Zero permeability to air or moisture.
How much does it cost for a HazMat suit?
The cost of a full protective suit, according to OCHA, is US$61.48; the cost of proper training and observation by gowning experts would add more. Add to that practice runs and Contamination Event Recovery Plans (CERPs) and the expenses mount.
Can a Tyvek suit be washed?
Tyvek® industrial protective garments are single-use products and not intended for reuse. DuPont does not recommend washing or disinfecting Tyvek® garments for reuse.

What is Saranex liner?
Technically speaking, Saranex is a PE/ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA)/Saran/EVA/PE heat-sealable coextruded barrier film. The most common version of this type of liner is Saran Tin. Saran is the trade name for polymers of PVDC, developed by Dow, which has low water and oxygen permeability.
Can you reuse hazmat suit?
Tyvek HazMat suits have been engineered for enhanced worker range of motion and durability. The DuPont Tyvek suits are disposable and cannot be cleaned or reused if there is any exposure to infected particles.
