Which is more durable brass or aluminum?
Steel, aluminum and brass sheet metal are all relatively strong and offer a high level of protection against corrosion. Steel, however, is the strongest, whereas aluminum is the lightest. Brass, on the other hand, is the most conductive of these three metals.
Can you mix aluminum and copper?
Copper and aluminum can be combined to form a copper-aluminum alloy. An alloy is a mixture, and therefore does not have a chemical formula. When this solution cools, the intermetallic compound CuAl2, or copper aluminide, can form as a precipitate.
Are purple wire nuts safe?
Purple wirenuts will occasionally not grab your wires but for the most part are reliable. AlumiConn lugs are solid and the only complaint is the occasional lug port is pre-set just a bit too tight.
