What happened to TamaTown?
Shutdown and Legacy On February 6, 2013 the servers for Tamatown were shut down. Tamatown no longer supports the enhanced gameplay feature for any of the Tamagotchi Connection devices. Any codes that come with certain pets, such as the Music Star, are no longer useable with the TamaTown websites.

Why did TamaTown shut down?
7 years ago Bandai retired the beloved TamaTown website which was an interactive website that worked with Tamagotchi versions V3-V7. Dream Town definitely faced its fair share of criticism and was shut down a few years later, presumably because the Tamagotchi Friends line was discontinued.
How do you get a Tamagotchi V4?
Tamagotchi characters now go to school or work when the owner decides. This is done by going to the “Connection” icon, selecting “Work” and pressing B when the “Away” sign appears.

Four different generations, or TMPs, of Tamagotchi are available, but only the first one grows in a way that is affected by caretaking skills; the other three are linear. If the caretaker is not responsible in their care for their Mesutchi or Osutchi, the Tamagotchi will become an adult character uninterested in love.

It takes 24 hours for your Tamagotchi to age 1 year, so it will take 4-5 days for your Tamagotchi to become an adult. This only applies if you don’t pause it, as the 24 hours is accumulated from time it has been un-paused.
What is the difference between Tamagotchi Gen 1 and 2?
Gen 1 comes in the same colors and with the same software as the original. Gen 2 has some newer designs (I love the galaxy one with its adorable space theme) and identical software except for the game.
