What does the MS Readathon raise money for?
The MS Readathon is all about kids helping kids! Children are challenged to read as much as they can in August and raise funds for kids who have a parent living with multiple sclerosis.
How long does MS Readathon last?
This competition period commences at 12.00AM (AEST) on Monday 25 May, 2020 and closes at 11:59pm (AEST) on Friday 31 July, 2020. This draw will take place at approximately 12.00pm AEST on Friday 7 August,2020 located at Multiple Sclerosis Office, Level 3, 110 Pacific Highway St Leonards NSW 2065.
Is MS Readathon tax deductible?
Payment fees – MS Readathon does not charge fees for Donations. Taxes – MS* does not guarantee that you will be eligible for any tax benefit by making a Donation to MS Readathon except to the extent that we currently hold an endorsement for deductible gift status.
How do read a thons work?
A readathon is a fundraiser during which students read in exchange for pledges or donations to their school. Typically, they ask friends and family to donate money, either based on a flat donation or the number of minutes or pages read. The students then read their books in a central location on a specified day.
How much does read-a-thon take?
One of the most notable differences between the two companies is the percentage of donations paid to the company instead of your school or group. Read-a-thon charges 10%. Boosterthon says their fees vary on their site but a little research shows that most schools pay between 40-50% of money raised to the company.

How do you get money in read-A-Thon?
Readers earn RAT Bucks for every sponsor they get. At the end of the event the readers spend their RAT Bucks and purchase any prizes they choose. A reader will be credited with 15% of the money they personally raise to spend. The great things about read-a-thons are that they are relevant for schools.
