How long is the DofE walk?
The distance you walk per day on DofE varies between awards. A standard distance to walk is 16km per day on Bronze, 19km per day on Silver, and 23km per day on Gold. Naturally, some groups will do less than this, and others more.
How long is DofE bronze volunteering?

Depending on your age, you are free to start at any level but most people prefer to start at Bronze and work upwards. It will usually take you at least 6 months to complete your Bronze programme. You also have to spend an extra three months on one of the Volunteering, Physical or Skills sections.
How long does it take to do the Duke of Edinburgh Award?

It is not possible to fail a DofE award, but you can fail expeditions or have evidence rejected. This means that in some instances individuals will have to redo an expedition, or even restart entire sections.
How long are the sections for gold DofE?
Bronze and Silver DofE both take at least 6 months to complete, with a combination of 3 and 6 month sections, while Gold takes at least 12 months with a combination of 6 and 12 month sections. The expedition sections become one day longer with each successive award.
Is DofE worth doing?
DofE is an excellent way to meet new people and make new friends. Working together in the wilderness on your expedition forms new bonds and great memories. Through volunteering, you meet many different people in a working environment, which prepares you for the working world.
What happens if you miss a week of DofE?
If you miss an activity one week, then you can do two hours the next week to make up for it. That way you still have an average of one hour per week overall. You can make up a maximum of 3 consecutive missed weeks at one time.
