How long is MCMAP training?

The United States Marine Corp Basic Training program is 12 weeks long. In the first portion of the training, you will learn close quarter hand-to-hand combat.
How long does it take to become a black belt in MCMAP?

There are five belt levels in MCMAP, beginning with an entry-level tan belt that requires 27.5 hours of training time. The next level up is gray (25 additional hours), followed by green (25 hours), brown (33 hours), and black (40 hours).
How do you get into MCMAP?
In addition to being sergeants, Marines looking to become first degree MCMAP black belts must complete 20 hours of sustainment training, 12 hours and 45 minutes of learning the advanced black belt techniques, and eight hours of character and mental training, including studying the “warrior culture” of the Zulus.
What does a black belt in the Marines mean?
Earning a green, brown, or black belt doesn’t mean you’ve learned all there is to know. It means you’ve demonstrated competency in each technique and the associated lessons and are now prepared to continue training at that level within your unit. Without consistent training, even a black belt is worthless.
Can civilians learn MCMAP?
However, this program is not readily available for civilians to learn. CMA will use many of the core techniques of MCMAP with a special emphasis on its practicality for civilian use.
Is MCMAP any good?
While many, varying opinions exist on the program, it’s important to understand one simple thing: it’s only as effective as its wielder. In short, if you weren’t any good at fighting before you learned MCMAP, you’re still not going to be much good after you earn that tan belt.
