How does Formula Student work?
As a student, taking part in Formula Student gives you the chance to demonstrate your technical, engineering design, and manufacturing skills. Your team is tasked to produce a prototype for a single-seat race car for autocross or sprint racing, and present it to a hypothetical manufacturing firm.
How many Fsae teams are there?
140 teams
Again, a neat and very well integrated design. This year’s competition has set a new record with 140 teams registered to compete.
How fast do Formula Student cars go?
Sporting a push-button shifter for the custom-designed Engine Control Unit and running on a tank of ethanol, the car maxes out at around 85 miles per hour. All of these contribute to giving the MIT Motorsport Team an edge in collegiate Formula SAE compeitions, where the car is put to the test both on and off the track.
