To get inside this room, the switch must first be turned off. Find the wire leading to the gate and follow it to the switch. If you cant find the wire, head west, then take the first two lefts. Be careful, a Badass will spawn next to the switch. Hit the switch, open the safe next to the switch, and backtrack back to the chest.
