Do Virgin Media have to dig up my drive?

It’s underground to a property boundary. After that it’s whatever works best for you and Virgin Media, although it will be buried on a property wherever it can be safely and without permanent property damage.

Can I get Virgin Media in my flat?

You can. Unlike with most providers, with Virgin Media there’s no need to take a landline with its broadband. If cost is your concern, take a look at cheap ADSL deals from BT, Plusnet and Now Broadband. These include a landline, but generally still work out cheaper than the cheapest Virgin Media broadband deals.

Is Virgin Media installation free?

Virgin help out this week by offering free setup and installation across all standalone Broadband and combined TV, Broadband and Phone packages…. The setup cost is also free for Broadband only and Broadband, TV and Phone bundles.

What can I use if I don’t have a virgin socket?

A Virgin Media Wall socket is where the magic of the internet comes into your home, directly from Virgin Media, your ISP. If you are unable to locate any Virgin Media sockets on the property, or if they are damaged in any way, one of the friendly Virgin Media engineers will come and install your service for you.

Do I need landlord permission for Virgin Media?

No. There is no legal requirement for a landlord to supply broadband, television or even a functioning phone line, so check the details before you sign your tenancy agreement.

Can I cancel my Virgin Media contract before installation?

Fortunately you can cancel your plan before installation. If for any reason you have had second thoughts then you may want to discuss this with their personnel. If you are sure though and wish to cancel then you can do so with ease, call their cancellation team and tell them about your plans and date for installation.

How much does it cost to set up Virgin Media?

Your set up fee includes a £35 activation fee, with free Click and Collect delivery, or £5 extra for a home delivery of the QuickStart pack. If your property doesn’t have a connection to the Virgin Media network, we’ll send you an engineer to get you set up without an additional fee.

Is there a self installation option for Virgin Media?

We have a self-installation option called Quickstart. This is usually available where the home has recently had an active Virgin Media fibre broadband service and is available on most, but not all, Virgin Media packages.

Is it possible to get cable from Virgin Media?

It’s disappointing that Virgin doesn’t seem to install much new cable, so all those new build properties (and ours is over 10 years old now) can’t have cable and never will. There must be tens of thousands of houses and flats like this, and always growing.

How long does it take to get Virgin Media Quickstart installed?

If you’re moving into a property with an active Virgin Media account that isn’t your own, QuickStart delivery may take up to 14 days while we close that account. A technician install generally takes a little longer and you’ll be offered the next available date at the checkout.
