Do you need boots for waders?
Yes. You do need boots with waders. While some options have boots that come attached, others may only have neoprene socks on the bottom. Wading boots are more comfortable than the traditional rubber boots that come attached to the bootfoot waders.
Do you size up for wading boots?
We have found that people successfully size their wading boots between their street shoe size and 1 full size larger (for men). If you are a half size, then you should size up to the next full size. Women should size down (ie: a women’s USA size 8 would take a men’s boot size 7).
Do wading boots run big?
Sizing for wading boots can be different than sizing for other footwear. In order to accommodate your neoprene stockingfoot waders, you should look for one size larger than your normal hiking boots (potentially a 1/2 size more if you plan on wearing wading socks or wool socks in the colder months).
