I say this as someone who owns several Epiphones, several Gibsons, several Gibson copies form other brands and has done nearly every upgrade and modification to various guitars that you can think of: you can not turn a production Epiphone into a Gibson.

What kind of taper does a Gibson SG Special have?
I have a 2019 Gibson SG Special with 500k CTS audio taper pots. Variety of different tones all the way down to one on the guitar. If you want that spec you gotta go 2019 or later. Epiphone just started having these pots this year as well I believe. (Good on ’em. I played some of the new Epiphones.
