Is Avallach Aen Elle?
Some guy asked Reds on the official forum years ago. It was easier to animate shorter Avallac’h in the cutscenes. In the novels he is about 2 meters, same as other Aen Elle. Avalach is actually aen saevherne, not sure is that would account for a major physiological difference from the aen elle though.

Why are the Aen Elle so big?
It’s simply the height of Aen Elle. Avallach was just some design choice to make him not that tall, he’s supposed to be, I think it’s mentioned in the books, he’s not any sort of exception. Eredin and Ge’els both are as tall after all.
Why is Lara Dorren special?
Lara Dorren was originally intended to marry Avallac’h. After Cragennan died, Lara gave birth to their daughter, but died during childbirth, orphaning the child….Expansion required.

Why does Avallac H help Ciri?
Both he elves served under Auberon and both wanted Ciri to have a child with the King so that they can use the power of the child to reopen the “Great Gate.” But Avallac’h comes to the conclusion that the Frost would catch up to them eventually and decides to help Ciri stand and fight it instead of running.
