Are stoneware mugs safe to use?
If ceramics are baked for long enough at hot enough temperatures, they may still be safe, but if not, the lead can leach into food and cause lead poisoning. Acidic food or drink is especially likely to cause lead to leach out of ceramics, unfortunately for coffee drinkers with favorite earthenware mugs.

Is Corelle toxic?
Made in the USA, Corelle plates and bowls are made of three layers of a type of tempered glass called Vitrelle®. This dinnerware is durable, lightweight and most importantly free of toxic chemicals!
Why are my Corelle dishes chipping?
Over time the dinnerware may become rough or chipped along the edges. If items are dropped or bumped/banged damage may occur because the dinnerware is weak. We recommend using less abrasive automatic dishwashing detergents such as Palmolive, Sunlight, or a store brand.
Are Corelle stoneware mugs lead free?
All Corelle® stoneware products and glazes are made of clay-based materials and glazes used throughout the industry. Decorations, if present, are made from low-lead enamels and fired at temperatures exceeding 1000 degrees F, which binds any heavy metals both physically and chemically so that their release is minimized.
Is stoneware safe to eat from?
High-quality stoneware is a completely non-toxic type of cookware, safe, and can last forever if cared for. It heats very evenly and becomes nicely seasoned after several uses, creating a non-stick finish.
Is Corelle Made in USA?
Most of our Corelle dinnerware is made in the USA. All of the plates and bowls from the Livingware, Lifestyles, Impressions, Ultra and Corelle Square collections are made in the states. Also, our Corelle Hearthstone dinnerware collection is made in China also. Pyrex glassware is made in the USA as well.
Where can I find old Corelle patterns?
Surprisingly, you can also find vintage Corelle on Etsy—search for “Corelle” in the “vintage” category. You can likely find these dishes at local antique shops, but beware inflated price tags; we wouldn’t recommend paying more than $100 for a full set, brand-new.
Is Corelle ceramic or porcelain?
Good old glass. Corelle dishes are made of Vitrelle, a glass laminate of three thermally-bonded glass layers.
When did Corelle stop using lead?
All our products have been Lead free since the mid-2000’s. Lead content has never been regulated until recently. We recommend using the items you have as decorative pieces. We hope this information is helpful.
