BoxyMo is Ireland’s first telematics dedicated insurer. This new concept is simple, we fit a telematics device, known as “BoxyMo” to your car. BoxyMo will then tell us how you drive and how far you drive. In addition to this “BoxyMo” will show you each month how to improve your driving and reduce your insurance costs.

Does BoxyMo have a curfew?

Will I have a curfew with the policy? No, you can drive at any time of the day or night with no curfew – however frequently driving at risky times, such as after midnight, may lower your driving score and therefore reduce your ability to earn “Reward Kilometres”.

Does BoxyMo do third party?

A car insurance policy with BoxyMo.ie means you will be covered for both as standard. BoxyMo.ie does not offer Third Party, Fire and Theft cover separately.

How do I top up my BoxyMo?

If you use up all your Policy Kilometres before the end of your policy term, you can buy “Top-Up Kilometres”. “Top Up” Kilometres are available 3 months after your policy begins in bundles of 400, 800, 1,500. You can view the current cost of topping up online via the “Top-Up” section of MyBoxyMo.

Black box technology uses GPS tracking to monitor the roads you use and the speed limits, but we would never monitor your location in real time unless you ask us to. Once activated, we can pass on the GPS details about your car’s location to the police who can attempt to recover the vehicle for you.

Although speeding is monitored as part of your black box experience, black boxes are in no way associated with speed cameras! Black boxes simply monitor your speeding to let you know whether you’re doing a good job and help you improve along the way.
