- Be at least 21 years old.
- Commit to a minimum of six months.
- Have prior experience holding babies and/or work with babies and children.
- Sign a confidentiality agreement.
- Adhere to all hospital policies.
- Complete a background check.
- Complete annual health clearances.

What kind of care do babies get in the NICU?
Babies who are born sick or premature can have a hard time making this transition, so we care for them in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) — a high-tech nursery with trained personnel that provides specialized care for babies with special medical needs.
What do you see in a neonatal intensive care unit?
If your baby is in the NICU, you’ll see: 1 Special beds called incubators to keep babies warm and help protect them from infection 2 Respirators, nasal tubes, or oxygen hoods to help babies breathe 3 Feeding tubes or glucose drips to help babies get enough nutrients 4 Monitors to track vital signs and alert the staff to your baby’s needs
Do you need experience to work at Kaiser Permanente?
Experience is welcome, but not necessary for this role. Our Kaiser Permanente physical therapy (PT) professionals help promote healing in patients recuperating from surgery, injury or illness. Volunteers in the physical therapy department help PT assistants care for members at Riverside Medical Center.
