What is LED side fire?
The Side Emitting Strip Light series is rated for indoor use, with 12VDC, to bring accent to hallways, stairs and coves. The LEDs are designed to emit beams sidways, parallel to flat surfaces without the strips being in sight.
Can you cut LED lights and both sides still work?
The short answer is yes, both sides of your LED strip light will work once you cut them.
Do LED lights have side effects?
Little wonder that many people complain of itchiness, redness in the eyes and mild headaches after continuous exposure to LED lights. The AMA says that life-long exposure of the retina and lens to blue peaks from LEDs can increase the risk of cataract and age-related macular degeneration.
Can you bend LED lights?
Can LED strip lights be bent? Yes and no. You can bend standard, non-waterproof LED strip tape around corners – as long as you bend them at the ‘cut’ line. Alternatively, for trickier angles, you can cut the LED strip light and solder a wire between the separate lengths to carry the power supply.
Why are my LED lights different colors after I cut them?
As established above, when LED strip lights don’t get enough cooling, they get overheated, and the diodes can change color. One of the biggest ways this can happen is poor air ventilation around the lighting setup.
Why are LED lights bad for you?
A 2012 Spanish study found that LED radiation can cause irreversible damage to the retina. A 2019 report from the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety (ANSES) warned of the “phototoxic effects” of blue light exposure, including an increased risk for age-related macular degeneration.
Can LED light strips catch on fire?
The possibility of led strip lights catching fire is minuscule, even though they are hot to touch. Incandescent bulbs have a filament that emits excessive heat, the light sources can ignite a fire on overheating, but as LED lights produce light at a lower temperature, they don’t catch fire as easily.
