Can you prepare formula bottles in advance?
“During the daytime, I recommend that you make the bottle roughly before you’re going to feed it,” Adler says. “But for overnight feeds, it’s convenient to make bottles up before you go to bed and put them in the fridge. They’ll stay good for 24 hours, so you can quickly grab one at 3 a.m.”

Prepared infant formula can spoil if it is left out at room temperature. Use prepared infant formula within 2 hours of preparation and within one hour from when feeding begins. If you do not start to use the prepared infant formula within 2 hours, immediately store the bottle in the fridge and use it within 24 hours.

Should I boil water for formula?
Rinse the top of the can of liquid concentrate formula with clean water before opening it. Distilled or purified water can be used without boiling first. All other water should be boiled first, including all other bottled water and all tap water. Do NOT use well water.
Can I use cooled boiled water for formula?
The safest way to prepare a feed is using water that has been boiled and cooled to no less than 70ºC. If you do not have access to boiling water, you may wish to use sterile liquid infant formula. Alternatively, you can prepare feeds using fresh, safe water at room temperature and consume immediately.
Why do you have to wait 30 minutes after boiling water?
Leave the water to cool in the kettle for no more than 30 minutes. Then it will stay at a temperature of at least 70C. Water at this temperature will kill any harmful bacteria. Remember to let the feed cool before you give it to your baby.
