Why did Elrond not push Isildur?
Isildur kept the ring in secret, and I think that secrecy is the main reason Elrond didn’t push his case. Isildur insisted on keeping the ring for the memory of his father and brother. He couldn’t have known that Isildur would die so soon, and that the ring would go missing.
Does Elrond die?
In the evil campaign, Elrond is seen during the Rivendell mission. He can be killed by Uruk-hai, or by Sauron himself. It is said that Elrond is a king, and the player must obtain his ring of power after his death. However, at the end, he returns and must be killed again, together with Legolas.

What would have happened if Isildur destroyed the Ring?
Was isildur corrupted by the ring?
I find that Isildur is mostly depicted throughout Tolkiens works as someone who was so easily corrupted by the ring and that that was his biggest flaw.
Why did Elrond not take Isildur into the mountain?
In the book he does not take Isildur into the mountain. Elrond did not know how dangerous the Ring was at the time. Isildur claimed it as weregild after defeating Sauron, and no one bothered enough to risk arguing with the king of Gondor and possibly cause a new war.
Why did Isildur keep the ring in The Hobbit?
Isildur keeps the Ring because everyone but the Elves are drawn to it – Saruman is (he is not a servant of Sauron as the movies show, he wants the Ring for himself), Men are, in Boromir and Boromir’s father. Some Hobbits are – Gollum, Bilbo and Frodo.
Why did Cirdan try to take Elrond’s ring?
They were around for the original forging, Cirdan was an original Ringbearer (Elrond only got his from Gil Galad later on), they know the power of the Rings and they know the power of the One. Try to take the Ring by force, and it would have claimed them instead.
