Can you still migrate Minecraft accounts?
We have opened migration for a limited amount of players. We will let you know on your profile page on Minecraft.net and in the Minecraft launcher when your account is ready to be migrated. If you’ve been notified that you’re eligible, you can just click the announcement to migrate.
What happens if I don’t migrate my Minecraft account?
Now just to be clear, migrating from Mojang to Microsoft accounts is mandatory. If you don’t make the move, in several months you won’t be able to log in anymore – which means you won’t be able to play either. You’ll receive a cool reward once you’ve logged in with your Microsoft account: a special cape!
Do you get a cape for migrating your Minecraft account?
Java Edition players can get a free cape for migrating their Mojang account. Both Java and Bedrock Edition players can create custom cape designs and upload them to Minecraft.net, cost-free.
Why can’t I migrate my Minecraft account yet?
If you do not have access to the email that is used to log in to your Mojang account, you will not be able to complete the migration. You will need to change the email on your account first. For instructions on how to do this, see Changing Your Email Address (Mojang Accounts).
How do I transfer my Minecraft account to another email?
You can change your email address by migrating your Minecraft account to a Mojang account. If you already have a Mojang account with your new email address, first log in to your Mojang account and then go to account.mojang.com/migrate/import to import your existing Minecraft username to your existing Mojang account.
Where can I migrate my Mojang account to Microsoft?
Migrating to a New Microsoft Account Login to minecraft.net with your Mojang account and find the prompt IT’S YOUR TURN TO MOVE! on your profile page and click MOVE MY ACCOUNT. The launcher message about migration will also redirect you to the profile page.
